If you are booking as a group or organisation, the group will be held responsible for the condition of the building, payment of appropriate fees, and the behaviour of all members of the party. For example, if the 1st Anytown Cub Pack does not make full payment, we will approach the 1st Anytown Scout Group for payment. If you are booking as a private group, the person making the booking will be responsible for the payment and behaviour of all individuals in the party.
We reserve the right to refuse bookings to any group or private individual. If this happens, a reason will be provided in writing on behalf of Crosby District Scout Trustee Board.
If Crosby District Scouts cancel a booking, then any money paid will be refunded in full. If you can't use the building due to local/national lockdown rules, then your deposit will be refunded.
Please ensure you have appropriate insurance to cover your group should you need to cancel for any other events other than that mentioned above. We will not be able to refund payments in other circumstances.
The leader in charge (for youth groups) or the person making the booking (for private groups) is responsible for their party's behaviour. At no time should under-18s be left in the building without appropriate adult supervision, unless prior permission has been granted in advance by Crosby District Scouts Lead Volunteer or a representative of Crosby District Scouts Trustee Board.
It is a requirement that all those who use Llansannan Activity Centre act in a reasonable and proper manner with regard to their personal behaviour, the care of the facilities, the conduct of activities, their duty of care to others, and have in place appropriate risk assessments and follow safety precautions.
It is the policy of the Scout Association to safeguard the welfare of all members and users of its premises by protecting them from physical, sexual, and emotional harm. In accordance with these responsibilities, it is a condition of booking that all adults in a youth group booking have been deemed fit to work with young people by the booking organisation concerned.
Crosby District Scouts will provide risk assessments for the building. However, groups are responsible for producing their own risk assessments for activities and events taking place on the premises. We do not provide or organise leaders or instructors for activities. Those who conduct activities are responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate training and qualifications relevant to their organisation. Crosby District Scouts accepts no responsibility for activities conducted by external leaders or instructors.
The building is a non-smoking facility, do not smoke on site.
Crosby District Scouts or their representatives cannot accept responsibility for the loss or damage of vehicles or possessions belonging to visitors of the centre.
Pets and other animals, with the exception of guide dogs, are not allowed on site.
Crosby District Scouts are proud of the history of the building and are committed to ensuring it remains available for the benefit of young people for many years to come. A small group of volunteers in Crosby and Llansannan work hard to maintain the condition of the building. During your stay, please ensure that everyone is made aware of the importance of keeping the building in good condition for current and future guests.
The building should be left in the same condition as you would like to find it. In particular:
- All worktops and tabletops must be cleaned down.
- No food should be left in the cupboards or fridges/fridge freezer.
- Plates, cutlery, utensils, cups, and glasses should be left clean, dry, and safely stored in the cupboards.
- Fly zapper and bug traps must be switched off at the end of your stay.
- Windows should be closed.
- Floors must be cleaned and dry.
- Toilet and shower areas must be left clean.
- The wood burner should be cleared and cleaned.
- Rubbish must be disposed of in the two bins outside the building: use the green bin for plastic waste and the orange bin for all other waste. If the bins are full, please take excess rubbish home and dispose of it safely.
- No rubbish should be left inside the building.
- Water heaters in the kitchen and bathroom areas must be switched off.
- Mattresses should be left upright to allow for airflow.
- There may be a need for you to turn the water on when you arrive or drain the system when you leave to ensure we do not experience water leaks or bursts. We will inform you if this applies to your booking, and full instructions will be provided.
Please report any damages as soon as possible, whether or not you were responsible for them. Accidents do happen, so if you can, please take photographs and provide a clear description. The group will be billed for any damages caused.
